For over 20 years, Broadway Grand Rapids has been bridging New York to West Michigan by presenting national Broadway tours in DeVos Performance Hall. While most of the community may solely recognize us for providing quality theatre to our community, we also work with area schools and non-profit organizations to provide education to area students through our program called Broadway in Education.
The Broadway in Education program offers free tickets to students for performances of our professional shows as a means to encourage their personal and academic success. We understand that many students have never had the opportunity to experience live theatre, and it is our goal to uniquely impact the lives of area students by increasing their exposure to live Broadway productions. We are committed to strengthening our Broadway in Education program, as last year we were able to provide over 800 free tickets to surrounding schools through the generous support of The Peter Secchia Family and the Alticor Corporation.
If you would like your class to be considered for free tickets from the Broadway in Education program, click on the link above, fill out the form and mail it to our offices stating how your class or non-profit organization would benefit from receiving the Broadway in Education Scholarship and how you would incorporate the 2008-09 show(s) into your curriculum. Our season includes the ultimate-feel-good show Mamma Mia! (July 29- August 3, 2008 ), the smash-hit Avenue Q ( September 23-28, 2008 ), the hair-raising musical Sweeney Todd ( October 21-26, 2008 ), the multi-dimensional Rain: The Beatles Experience (January 27-February 1, 2009), and the musical comedy The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee ( April 7-11, 2009 ).
We hope that you are as excited about this opportunity as we are, and we look forward to working with you this season.
